red and white they filled the sky as all the planes began to take flight we would chase them around and hold them down we'd swallow them up until we retched them out we'd scream and we'd shout about our stomachs and how they hurt us until our bodies brought a world full of snips and snails and little girls filling stockings with curls and locks licking lips til mother would stop and wipe the rings around their mouths waiting for more wings to leak out on the clouds behind your house where silence sings and grows so loud we'd look for lights to shine down but not a single one was found now i see you dancing down the stage in dreams where i met you we snuck right into the room where we disappeared and i hope that i'll find you there when i awake and care to share i'll have grown no new facial hair although its been a year there will still be no sign of a beard
your body's rejecting the love that i'm sending out from my lungs to help you keep breathing i hope you're not leaving me like this so give me your kiss let our souls manifest themselves upon our lips and make us feel like kids when my heart had a whole that your smile could mend
now fire is filling up this room and i am blowing into you just like a balloon and though we are laughing and smiling and crying i know that that is why i'm trying to save you for you are a friend just like a brother and when this all is over i know we'll hold each other and we can talk about it from the top of our mountain or downtown at the fountain where the water overflows fingers become bones shadows fade out with the glow for now this room is slower lay your head upon my shoulder brother and i will cling to you and you can cling to me and in this way we will sink but i will never leave and we will give our hearts to everyone we meet along the way
